  1. EDU 664 Studies in Education of Learning Disabilities [3]
  2. This course offers understanding in characteristics of students with learning disabilities and application of educational practice for students with learning disabilities. Emphasis is placed on theoretical frameworks of understanding instructional practices that have been shown to be effective for students with learning disabilities and selected and applied as appropriate methods in content-area classes.

  3. EDU 667 Studies in Education of Emotional and Behavioral Disorders [3]
  4. Through this course, Students will learn the effective ways to deal with students who exhibit challenging behavior through this course. The strategies include functional assessment and positive behavior support for students with emotional and behavioral disorders and other behavioral problems. Students will be able to analyze the studies on emotional and behavioral disorders and design the studies accordingly.

  5. EDU 668 Learning and Teaching Strategies for Students with Disabilities [3]
  6. In this course, students will understand the theories and practices of instructional strategies in special education and analyze the learning and teaching strategies for students with disabilities and develop the educational plan for students with disabilities in classroom settings.

  7. EDU 693 Seminar in Mild Disabilities Studies [3]
  8. In this course, each student will select a topic in the categories of mild disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional disorders, Asperger, ADHD, or mild mental retardation. Students will study the current issues of the selected topic and perform a literature review to deepen their understanding of the topic.

  9. EDU 756 Seminar in Functional Analysis and Positive Behavior Support Studies [3]
  10. Through this course, students will study the research on Functional Analysis and Positive Behavior Support, perform a research based on their design, and complete a research paper.

  11. EDU 926 Studies in Education of Autism Spectrum Disorder [3]
  12. This course will cover the concept, issues, educational treatments, and current research issues on Autism Spectrum Disorder.

  13. EDU 928 Seminar in Special Education Studies [3]
  14. This course will offer opportunities to select a topic of interest in special education area and search and analyze the research articles on the selected topic. During the course, students will complete a literature review regarding the research trend of domestic and international studies.

  15. EDU 950 Applied Behavior Analysis and Single-Subject Research Design [3]
  16. In this course, students will identify behavioral problems and apply functional behavior analysis. Students will analyze the classic and current articles with single-subject design to design their own experiment.

  17. EDU 963 Seminar in Inclusive Teaching and Learning Strategies [3]
  18. This course will focus on the inclusive teaching and learning strategies and survey the evidence-based practices. The practical application of the strategies will be performed and completed as a pilot study throughout this course.

  19. EDU 967 Advanced Research Methods in Special Education [3]
  20. Students will individually select a topic and perform a literature review on the topic. They will design a research plan that can be used for the actual proposal. Therefore, students who take this course right before their proposal can perform the research for doctoral dissertation after the course.
